Regular office hours are at 5pm on Monday and 8pm on Thursday and you can plan on the office being open at these times. See the chart below confirm that an office worker has signed up and to check the opening times. This is always the definitive word on the timing of office hours.

Office hours are staffed by MITOC volunteers and workers often sign up at the last minute. If no one has signed up by the day before a regular hour, you can email mitoc-desk@mit.edu to request a desk worker. Please don't email any earlier than this!

Things to remember

• You can only rent gear for yourself and one other. If you want gear for more people you must turn up with sufficient MITOC members in person to achieve a 2:1 ratio.
• You cannot reserve anything at all. First come, first served, and only if we have it!
• The only way to find out what's in and what's out is to come by and check.
• If it says "DESK WORKER NEEDED" above, no one has signed up yet. Check back often!
• Bring your checkbook! We only take checks. We can't accept cash or credit card.
• You need to have a MITOC membership to rent gear. It's most convenient for us if you become a member the same time you rent gear for the first time. There is no need to join in advance.

• We charge late fees.

Holiday Policy

• If Monday is a Holiday, we will try to hold regular hours on Tuesday 5pm.
• If Thursday is a Holiday, we will try to hold regular hours on Wednesday 8pm.
