The MIT Climbing Wall was built in 2001 by a core group of dedicated students, with help from the extended MIT Community.
Since 2001, it has had several dedicated wall managers, serveral wall upgrades (check out all the overhangs!), and has undergone constant improvement in the form of new mats, a new couch, an air filter, and so on.
You can find out who the current wall manager is by visiting the officer's page.
You may want to read our Operating Manual (pdf) before coming to the wall. The Climbing Wall is located on the 3rd floor of Walker Memorial, on the side facing the Charles River. The room number is 50-303. Please enter the building from Mem. Drive (on the river side, next to the Muddy Charles pub), go up 2 flights, and then go left, left. Keep the noise level down. We also have rental shoes available; you can use them with a kind donation of $1.
